Trishula Therapeutics is a clinical stage biotechnology company developing a first-in-class anti-CD39 antibody in cancer. The Company has completed Phase 1/1b clinical study in ~250 patients in various solid tumors. In partnership with AbbVie, Trishula is working to initiate a biomarker-driven randomized Phase 2 clinical study in 2023. The clinical studies have significant translational component both in peripheral and central compartment.
Position Overview:
The Vice President, and Head Immuno-oncology and Translational Sciences, leads the advancement of Trishula’s products in clinical development, with a focus on development of biomarkers, predictive diagnostics, immunohistochemistry, and probing treatment-based changes at molecular, genetic and cellular level.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Play a key role as the leader of the Translational Science Team.
- Lead science-based design of translational efforts in one or more clinical studies.
- Lead molecule, pathway and disease area strategies in partnership with development team to provide decision analysis and other analytic and strategic support.
- Be accountable for leading the development of strategic plans for pipeline assets and implementation.
- Serve as an effective team leader on product teams and for programs in the pipeline who can define the correlative science strategy; Ensure that the strategy is aligned with the product’s life cycle and development plan.
- Serve as a lead for Trishula in jointly developing and testing biomarker strategies with development partner, AbbVie.
- Lead expert advisory board discussions, to identify, develop and implement successful product strategies and tactical plans. Develop and maintain academic collaborations.
- Represent Translational Sciences at relevant program and portfolio decision-making committees and support business development efforts and reviewing potential assets for in-licensing.
- Partner with functional leaders from Research, Clinical Development, Biometrics, Regulatory, Project Leadership, and others in support of the project teams and organization.
- Represent Translational Sciences externally with respect to Advisory Boards, Regulatory Agency interactions, and research and clinical conferences.
Position Requirements and Experience:
- MD, PhD, or MD/PhD in relevant scientific field (e.g., Immunology, Oncology).
- At least 10 years’ related experience in biotech, or pharmaceuticals. Experience in R&D and Clinical Trials drug development is required. Experience in strategic planning and analytics is strongly desirable. Experience in management consulting, support of strategic alliances, and business development is a plus.
- Strategic thinker with critical ability to link preclinical approaches and personalized medicine with clinical drug development.
- Strong leadership capabilities in formulating direction and managing in a small company environment.
- Strong publication record and communication skills.
- Ability to participate and contribute substantively to scientific and clinical discussions with external investigators including Advisory Board/Steering Committee discussions, with Health Authorities.
